Many of our customers request a location in which they can enjoy the urban pleasures of Berlin’s city life. This apartment, on the first floor of a 1904 Belle Epoch building overlooking the busy Kant Strasse, corner of the Schlüter Strasse, is just a short walk away from the Breidscheidplatz , containing the renowned Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche with its broken steeple, the Kurfürstendamm, and the Bahnhof Zoo main train station. The wonderful Savigny Platz, a green oasis lined with some of Berlin’s finest bars , like the Paris Bar, restaurants and bistros , is a few steps away. The unique shops, theaters, boutiques and eateries in this neighborhood are simply too numerous to mention. The S-Bahn Station Savignyplatz, made famous in the film “Cabaret” by Liza Minelli, is a very short walk away; connections to all important Berlin locations are excellent. Googlemap
The owners of the apartment, an Italian couple, have decorated and furnished it with excellent taste and great attention to detail. The four-room, two-bedroom apartment comprises a total of 110 square meters, and is on the second floor of the building (one flight up). It has a southerly aspect, and so is sunny and light from morning to evening, yet pleasantly cool in the summer.
The two bedrooms, living room, dining room, and hallway, all have polished wood-plank floors and high ceilings with Belle Epoch ornate plaster molding. Although you can enjoy the active street scene from the flower-lined balcony, both bedrooms face on the inner courtyard, and are extremely quiet. The guest bedroom has a large double loft bed and a good-sized desk with telephone connection for connection of to the Internet. All beds in the apartment are of high quality natural latex. The bathroom was renovated recently and is luxuriously tiled. Cooks will appreciate the 18 square meter, well-equipped kitchen, with many extras such as gas stove, electric orange squeezer and milk creamer (for espresso fans). The owners have installed imported Italian tiles on the counter surfaces, and there is a kitchen table that seats four, as well as a traditional Berliner Speisekammer (pantry). This area contains a washing machine. The table in the roomy dining room will comfortably seat eight to ten.
