“Weinberger Quartier” Bergstrasse 69/79
The historic background of the house in the Bergstrasse 70 in Berlin-Mitte, where a beautiful one-bedroom apartment is now avaialble.
The Bergstrasse 69/70 property was formerly called the „Weinberger-Quartier“. From 1921 to 1935 it housed the production plant of the Berliner Lebensmittel Großhandel Weinberger, a wholesaler of household goods and Germany’s largest producer of butter and butter fat. The family business headquarters were based at Hollmannstrasse 16 in Berlin-Kreuzberg; near today’s site of the Jewish Museum. Hermann Weinberger founded the food trading enterprise in 1912. The Weinberger firm supplied products to 125 of their own retail stores and about 1000 other shops in and around Berlin.
